Nichole Payne is a first year graduate student at the University of Illinois Chicago, she received a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology at Minnesota State University and completed two years of research through the University of Minnesota's Post-Baccalaureate program where she investigated sex differences between male and female mice when exposed to alcohol withdrawal. She has presented her research at several conferences including the 2023 and 2024 Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Scientists, the 2024 Society for Neuroscience Conference and the 2024 Research Society on Alcohol Conference. She is interested in continuing investigations into alcohol abuse as well as branching out into research regarding other substances of abuse and/or their comorbidities with Alzheimer's Disease.
