About
Hello, my name is Demetria Neal. I completed my undergraduate education in 2020 at UIC earning my Bachelor of Science in neuroscience and loved UIC so much I decided to complete my PhD in neuroscience here as well. My previous work focused on the pathophysiology of Alzheimer’s diseases. Currently, I am interested in neurodevelopmental diseases/disorders and want to understand the cellular and molecular mechanisms that influence cognitive abilities in them in hopes of aiding in the development of new and/or better drug therapies and treatments. When I am not doing research, I am usually at the gym rock climbing with friends.
Advisor: Dr. Kuei Tseng
