About
Alex is a PhD candidate in the Graduate Program for Neuroscience at UIC, where she works under Dr. Pauline Maki in the Women's Mental Health Research Program. Her research focuses on women's cognitive health during the menopausal transition, with a focus on women of color. Alex is particularly interested in understanding the effects of sleep disturbances and vasomotor symptoms (hot flashes) on cognitive and brain health at menopause.
